What is mspec gay?
Mspec gay refers to anyone who is attracted to more than one gender, and at least one of those genders are the same gender and/or a similar gender. Attraction to same/similar gender(s) are often prioritized. In other words, mspec gay means anyone who considers themself both mspec and gay.
Mspec gays can be, more specifically, mspec lesbian and/or mspec veldian.
Mspec is an umbrella term that refers to anyone attracted to more than one gender, and includes bi, pan, omni, and ply.
Someone may refer to themselves as an mspec gay for several reasons, such as:
they are varioriented, for example someone who is homosexual and biromantictheir orientation flucuates, so mspec may only be accurate some of the time and other times gay is accurate and it's easier to say mspec gay then sometimes mspec sometimes gaythey are attracted to all genders, but the way they experience attraction to certain genders makes using "gay" a more practical and/or accurate description of that attraction, for example a really strong preferencethey experience attraction to multiple but not all genders, and one or multiple of those genders includes their same/similar gender, for example a ply lesbian could be attracted to women and nonbinary people, but not menthey use the historical meanings, for example a bi lesbian calling themself a lesbian because bi woman used to be called lesbiansthey may be unsure if they experience attraction to (a) certain gender(s)- but know for sure on another/othersthey may be using gay as an umbrella termmany other reasons
Note: This blog does not support someone using mspec gay to refer to being attracted to certain genitalia, such as saying they're a bi lesbian because they're attracted to cis women, afab enbies, and trans men. That is transphobic

A: This is a word used to refer to "gay men," and this blog uses it to clarify the difference between lesbian and gay man, as the word gay is used by this blog as a general term. Coining of veldian can be found here. Also check out terms

Q: Can I be mspec gay?
A: If you feel like it fits you, then go for it!
Q: I don't like that I technically fit the definition for mspec gay, I'm [insert orientation here]
A: And that's fine! There is a lot of overlap in different orientations, and in many cases people can share the same experience. That's fine, here's a little secret: orientation labels are just shorthand words used to best describe and relay one's experience, you're the only one who can choose what's most accurate for yourself.

Submission/Ask Rules
+Submission refers to asks that are user submitted examples of mspec gay culture
Submissions must start with a variant of "mspec gay culture." It can be as vague as stated, or as specific as "pan veldian culture is." We also include things like,"ace mspec gay culture is", "trans mspec gay culture is," and "autistic mspec gay culture is"Fandom related submissions are allowed, but please keep it vague, don't name the fandom/characters/ship/etcDo not send anything hate or discourse related or anything that breaks the dniDo not send anything sexual explicit, or depicting self-harm, suicide, rape, pedophilia, or graphic violence
If your submission breaks these rules they will be deleted. Not all of your asks have to be submissions, but please note that the last two rules still apply for non-submission related asks.
